Tilak High School from Lautoka secured the title of the 2024 Digicel Fiji Secondary Schools Inter District Championship in Nadi yesterday after a thrilling match against Labasa Sangam College, winning 1-0 in extra time. Harsh Naidu scored the decisive goal for Tilak from the penalty spot.
Naidu also earned the Golden Boot award by scoring eight goals throughout the tournament. In addition, Tilak’s goalkeeper Frank Dansey was honored with the Golden Glove for achieving three clean sheets.
In the semifinals, Tilak dominated Vashist Muni College from Navua with a 4-0 victory, featuring a brace from Lautoka striker Sekove Luma, who also assisted in scoring the other goals. In contrast, Labasa Sangam College triumphed over the defending champions Labasa College, winning 5-4 on penalties.
In other results, Labasa College won the U15 title, defeating Tavua College 4-1 on penalties, while Xavier College claimed the U17 title with a 4-1 win over SKKMC. Ba Sanatan emerged victorious in the Girls Open Grade, edging out Xavier College 1-0.
