Thrills and Spikes: Army Claims Victory at Namaka Volleyball Tournament

Army claimed victory at the Namaka Volleyball Tournament men’s division on Saturday, triumphing over Rum & Cola Redline with a score of 3-2 in a gripping final at Namaka District School. This victory secured the team a cash prize of $2000, while the runners-up, Redline, received $500.

In the tournament’s plate competition, Lionz finished in first place, with Bonunaqele taking second, contributing to an exhilarating atmosphere throughout the event. Additionally, the mixed division concluded with both Waterheadz Bula Lade and Golden Jets declared winners, as the final match could not take place due to diminishing daylight. The Golden Jets won $550 by virtue of earning the most points during the round-robin stage.

Biu Tadranu, the tournament’s organizer, expressed pride over the substantial turnout and enthusiasm for volleyball within the community. He stated, “The event highlighted the growing interest in volleyball, with teams showcasing exceptional skills and sportsmanship.” Tadranu took the opportunity to thank all participants, supporters, and organizers for their roles in making the tournament a success.

The Namaka Volleyball Tournament has become a platform not just for talent but also for fostering community spirit. Looking ahead, anticipation builds for the upcoming Namaka 7s tournament, which is set to begin this Thursday at Namaka Public School ground.
