Hamilton TIV claimed the title in the Super Premier Division at the 96th TISI Sangam Convention, achieving a 2-1 victory over Middlemore TIV in a match held at the Fiji FA Academy ground in Ba. The win reflects Hamilton’s strength and determination within this competitive arena.
In addition, Lautoka TIV Masters secured their championship title in the Masters Division, succeeding in a thrilling penalty shootout against Manukau TIV Masters, ending the match 5-4 in their favor.
The tournament faced challenges due to unpredictable weather conditions, which prompted the organizing committee to make last-minute adjustments to match venues. Some games were even played late into the night. However, Upendra Gounder, the chairman of the organizing committee, expressed pride in successfully completing the tournament despite these setbacks.
“Teams turned up well, and we thank them for coming out and participating,” Gounder remarked, emphasizing the resilience and enthusiasm of the teams involved.
