Nasinu Masters is gearing up for a tough match against a formidable Vinz Works Rewa Masters team in the first semi-final of the RC Manubhai/Apco Coatings Veterans Tournament Over 45s today.

The team secured their spot in the top four after scoring four goals against My Suva Legends yesterday.

Coach, player, and president Lawrence Robert emphasized the importance of winning this crucial match.

He mentioned that while they initially struggled with finishing, the players have found their rhythm following yesterday’s victory.

“We believe that tomorrow (today) we must come back firing and win,” Robert stated.

The team, featuring former district stars, is optimistic about their chances in the semi-finals.

“We have equally good players in our team so we are quite confident that we will play in the final.”

Robert highlighted key players such as Jalindar Singh from Nasinu, Valero Nasemo from Ba, Mark Rokobulki from Lautoka, Itesh Singh, Binesh Kumar from Nasinu, and Akesh Narain from Navua, showcasing the team’s strong lineup.

Meanwhile, Rewa defeated Suva City Masters 6-0 in their final group match.

“The team is good, we have former districts and national reps in the team who will hopefully take us through to the finals,” said coach Patrick Wise.

Nasinu will face Rewa in the second semi-final at 9:30am.

In the first semi-final, JK Nadi will go up against Lutoka Legends at 8:30am, with both matches taking place at the Fiji Football Academy ground in Vatuwaqa.

The final will be held at the HFC Bank Stadium as a curtain-raiser to the Battle of the Giants grand final.
