Police in Sydney have apprehended three men suspected to be connected to a drug syndicate associated with the KVT (Kai Viti or Fijian) Gang, believed to have ties with the Australian Lebanese underworld. During the operation, authorities seized 40 kilograms of illicit drugs valued at approximately $8.07 million USD.
The first arrest involved a 28-year-old man who is now facing multiple charges, including directing criminal activities and supplying prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis. He is currently held at Liverpool Police Station and has been denied bail pending his appearance in Liverpool Local Court.
On the same day, another 28-year-old was stopped by officers on the Great Western Highway at Glenbrook during a vehicle search. This individual was taken to Springwood Police Station, where he was charged with supplying prohibited drugs and participating in a criminal organization.
Additionally, a 24-year-old man was arrested in Peakhurst. He faces serious charges, including two counts of supplying prohibited drugs in quantities exceeding large commercial amounts, dealing with proceeds of crime over $3,229 USD, and failing to adhere to directives concerning digital evidence access. Like the others, he has been refused bail and will appear in Sutherland Local Court.
This series of arrests highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to dismantle significant criminal enterprises and curb the drug trade in the region. As authorities continue their investigations, there is hope for reducing the influence of such gangs and enhancing community safety.
