Three individuals were apprehended yesterday on drug-related charges during distinct police operations in Lautoka and Nadi.

In Lautoka, the Police K-9 Unit intercepted a 26-year-old mechanic from Sabeto Central and a 32-year-old resident of Duna Place, Nadi. During their search, law enforcement officials discovered two clear plastic bags allegedly containing a white substance thought to be methamphetamine.

In a separate incident, a Public Service Vehicle driver from Cunningham was detained after officers found marijuana seedlings in his possession. Further investigation led to a raid on his residence, where the Fiji Dog Detector Unit along with the Police K-9 Unit unearthed additional seedlings believed to be marijuana.

All three suspects are currently in police custody as the investigation is ongoing.

This situation highlights the ongoing efforts of local law enforcement to address drug-related issues in the region. The proactive measures undertaken by the police units not only aim to uphold the law but also serve as a reminder of the community’s responsibility to remain vigilant against drug abuse and trafficking. Through collaboration between law enforcement and the community, there’s hope for a safer and healthier environment.
