Three individuals were taken into custody yesterday due to their involvement with illegal drugs. The Police K-9 Unit conducted a traffic stop in Waiyavi, Lautoka, where they searched a 26-year-old mechanic from Sabeto Central and a 32-year-old individual from Duna Place in Nadi Town. During the search, the K-9 Unit discovered two clear plastic bags containing a white substance, suspected to be methamphetamine.

Additionally, a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) driver from Cunningham was also arrested after police uncovered seedlings believed to be marijuana. A coordinated effort by the Fiji Dog Detector Unit (FDDU) and the Police K-9 Unit led to a drug raid at his residence, where further marijuana seedlings were found.

Currently, all three men are in custody as investigations are ongoing. This incident highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat drug-related issues in the region, showing a proactive approach to improve community safety. It’s a reminder of the importance of vigilance and cooperation between authorities and the public in addressing drug-related crime.
