The Minister for Sugar, Charan Jeath Singh, has apologized to the House for his inappropriate behavior and language during a Ministerial Statement last Tuesday, as per Standing Orders. He expressed regret for any offensive remarks made and acknowledged the impact it may have had on other members.
Similarly, Opposition MP Praveen Bala also extended an apology under the same protocol if his remarks had offended anyone through the use of unparliamentary language.
In response, Speaker of Parliament Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu urged all members to maintain decorum in their discussions. He highlighted the importance of keeping a respectful environment and reminded members that their behavior is observed by the public and children watching from the gallery. Ratu Naiqama referenced the tendency for members to escalate discussions rapidly and encouraged reflection on their conduct.
