Telecom Fiji Limited showcased its strong commitment to the community by donating $15,000 to the Fiji Cancer Society (FCS) during a touching Pinktober morning tea event last week at its Lautoka Exchange and Headquarters in Suva.
The event featured inspiring speeches from two cancer survivors, Vikiwini Tora from Lautoka and Farnia Simion from Rabi Island, who shared their journeys with the staff. Their moving accounts highlighted the importance of community support and the crucial role played by the Fiji Cancer Society in promoting early detection and providing ongoing care for cancer patients.
Telecom Fiji’s General Manager for Corporate Services and Human Resources, Samuela Vadei, commended the FCS for its relentless efforts to raise cancer awareness in workplaces and emphasized the significance of staff sharing this information with their families and broader communities. “We take pride in seeing our staff turn awareness into action through their valuable pledges and initiatives,” he stated.
Mr. Vadei further reinforced Telecom Fiji’s dedication to supporting the FCS, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in the fight against cancer. He noted that the company’s annual participation in Pinktober aims to raise awareness, promote wellness, and provide essential support to those affected by the disease, ensuring that no one faces this battle alone.
Telecom Fiji’s longstanding partnership with the Fiji Cancer Society demonstrates the company’s unwavering commitment to helping organizations that fulfill such critical missions.
This initiative not only strengthens community ties but also gives hope to those facing cancer, showing that with collective support and resources, the fight against this illness becomes a shared journey.
