Police are looking into the incident involving two 16-year-olds who were found in possession of marijuana, according to Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu. The teenagers were discovered with the drugs on school grounds, with one case occurring in Sigatoka and the other in Kinoya.

Mr. Driu confirmed that a Year 10 teacher in Sigatoka reported the discovery to the authorities. The two teenagers are currently in police custody as investigations continue.

ACP Driu emphasized the critical role parents play in preventing drug use among children. He urged parents to check their children’s bags before they leave for school and to be aware of their social circles, including the friends visiting their homes.
