Authorities are looking into an incident involving two 16-year-olds who were found with marijuana, according to Assistant Police Commissioner of Operations, Livai Driu. The teenagers were discovered with drugs on their school premises, one in Sigatoka and the other in Kinoya. Mr. Driu reported that a Year 10 teacher in Sigatoka made the discovery and promptly informed the police. Both individuals are currently in custody, and investigations are ongoing.
ACP Driu emphasized the crucial role of parents in preventing drug use among children, urging them to take responsibility by checking their children’s bags before school and being mindful of their friends and visitors at home.
