Police are investigating allegations circulating on social media that two teenage boys attempted to forcibly inject drugs into a 17-year-old boy. Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime, Mesake Waqa, has tasked the Crime Officer in Nausori to look into these claims.

The incident reportedly occurred at around 4 PM on Tuesday, as the victim was returning home via a commonly used shortcut under the Nausori Bridge. Concerns have been raised by parents in the area regarding the safety of students, indicating a broader anxiety about the potential for drug-related incidents.

This latest allegation echoes previous cases where educational institutions have been scrutinized for drug use among students, such as recent reports indicating that several students were found under the influence of methamphetamine at a school in Tailevu. Parents expressed that these troubling trends highlight a need for greater attention and action to ensure the safety and well-being of students in schools and communities.

The ongoing investigation aims to address not only this specific incident but also the broader concerns raised about drug culture among youths in the area. Such efforts reflect a commitment to creating a safer environment for students, underscoring the importance of vigilance from both parents and authorities.

As the police continue their inquiries, there is hope that increased awareness and proactive measures will help mitigate these issues, fostering a safer community for young people.
