Annie May, a sixteen-year-old from Savusavu FC, has been appointed as the captain of the Digicel Fiji Junior Kulas for the upcoming OFC U-16 Women’s Championship. She will be joined by vice-captain Ulamila Rasovsova as the team gears up for the tournament, which starts this Sunday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
Teams from Samoa, New Zealand, Tonga, Cook Islands, Tahiti, and Solomon Islands have already arrived in Fiji and are acclimating ahead of the competition. However, the New Caledonia team’s arrival has been postponed due to flight complications, although they are expected to arrive soon. The Fiji team, coached by Marika Rodu, will play against Tonga in their first match of the championship at 3 pm on Sunday.
