A 16-year-old boy has been charged with raping his 5-year-old cousin last month, according to a statement from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP). This case is part of a concerning trend, as the ODPP reported that a total of 16 individuals have been charged with 44 counts of sexual offenses throughout October.
Among the charges, there are 27 counts of rape, one charge for assault with intent to commit rape, four counts of indecent assault, and twelve counts of sexual assault. Notably, one of the accused is a juvenile, and two are police officers. One officer, aged 52, faces charges for the sexual assault of a 47-year-old woman, while a 51-year-old officer is charged with the indecent assault of a 23-year-old female colleague.
Furthermore, a 40-year-old man has been charged with multiple counts involving the sexual abuse of his own daughters, aged nine and seven.
