The Waidamudamu Golf Group kicked off the new year with camaraderie and sportsmanship at the Fiji Golf Club in Vatuwaqa, Suva. Members gathered for a round of golf, enjoying light-hearted interactions amidst the beautiful setting of the course.

Notable attendees included Filimone Jitoko, the Speaker of Parliament, and Indonesian Ambassador Dupito Simamora. Group president Sai Tokalau shared that the day was a chance for fellowship, even as some members were unable to attend. He also took a moment to reflect on the group’s charitable contributions over the previous year.

Tokalau emphasized the group’s commitment to philanthropy, stating, “Our group has always been charitable throughout the year. Whatever we collect at every golf game, we distribute it to charities.” This past year, donations were made to Dilkusha Home, Homes of Hope, and the Chevalier Boys Hostel. He expressed hope for the group to increase their charitable efforts in the new year, aiming to double their contributions.

Highlighting the group’s diversity, Tokalau noted that it boasts a wide range of members, including ambassadors and high-ranking governmental officials, with the Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka, also being a part of Waidamudamu.

While there are no scheduled tournaments until next month, the gathering exemplified the spirit of unity and giving that the group embodies.
