Half of Team Fiji’s Va’a squad heading to the Pacific Mini Games in Palau will be making their international debut, showcasing a blend of youthful talent and determination. The Mini Games are scheduled from June 29 to July 9, with 10 junior paddlers preparing for their first major outing in competitive canoe racing.

Assistant coach Joanne Reiher highlighted the squad’s youth, emphasizing the importance of fostering relationships both in and out of the canoe. Team manager Makayla Halter added that mental and physical preparation are crucial for the athletes in facing international competition.
