“Team Fiji Rugby Sevens Welcomed in France for Olympic Training”

The Team Fiji men’s rugby sevens team received a warm welcome at their training base in Libourne, France, earlier this week.

Philippe Buisson, the Mayor of Libourne, expressed the city’s pride and honor in hosting the defending Olympic champions in sevens rugby.

“I thank the Fiji team for promoting the values of this sport to our young people,” Buisson said.

Coached by Osea Kolinisau, the team will train in Libourne before moving to the Games Village as the men’s sevens competition of the Paris Olympic Games begins on July 24.

The competition will pause on July 26 for the Olympic Games’ official opening, with the finals set to resume on July 27.

Today, the Fiji men’s rugby sevens team will spend an hour with the public at the Moueix Stadium.
