The Team Fiji men’s rugby sevens team received a warm welcome at their training base in Libourne, France, earlier this week.

Philippe Buisson, the Mayor of Libourne, expressed that it was a source of pride and a great honor for the city to host the defending Olympic Games gold medal champions in sevens rugby.

“I thank the Fiji team for promoting the values of this sport to our young people,” Buisson stated.

The team, coached by Osea Kolinisau, will remain in Libourne before relocating to the Games Village as the men’s sevens competition of the Paris Olympic Games commences on July 24.

The competition will take a break on July 26 for the Olympic Games official opening, with the finals scheduled for July 27.

Today, the Fiji men’s rugby sevens team will spend an hour with the public at the Moueix Stadium.
