A total of 395 educators who have improved their qualifications will soon receive 50 percent of their salary upgrade payments, with the remaining half expected to be paid in January 2025. This announcement was made by Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro during the Fiji Teachers Registration Authority Annual Congress held in Nadi.

Additionally, 103 Assistant Principals are set to receive an increase in their salary bands to better distinguish their roles from those of Heads of Departments. Radrodro expressed his gratitude to teachers for their dedication to enhancing their professional qualifications and their commitment to becoming more versatile in their teaching roles. He emphasized that the government values their continuous development in areas related to education, including management, which is crucial for retaining qualified professionals within the education system.

The Congress is ongoing in Nadi today, signifying a continued focus on improving educational standards and teacher support.

This initiative reflects a positive shift towards recognizing and rewarding educators’ efforts to enhance their skills, which can ultimately lead to better learning outcomes for students. Investing in teacher development is a crucial step towards fostering an enriched educational environment.
