A total of 395 teachers who have successfully upgraded their qualifications are set to receive 50 percent of their salary upgrade payments soon, with the remaining balance expected in January 2025. This announcement was made by the Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro, during the Fiji Teachers Registration Authority Annual Congress in Nadi.
Minister Radrodro also mentioned that 103 Assistant Principals will see a salary increase to better reflect their roles compared to Heads of Departments. He expressed gratitude to the teachers for their commitment to professional development, emphasizing the importance of enhancing their qualifications not only in teaching but also in management and other areas of learning. The government’s investment in these educators aims to retain skilled professionals in the educational sector.
