The Education Minister, Aseri Radrodro, has revealed an allocation of $988,648.30 for a year-end payment to teachers who have pursued further qualifications, in accordance with the Teacher Remuneration Policy. This investment in education signifies a commitment to enhancing the professional development of educators.
The total financial commitment for these salary increments is projected at $2.3 million for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. As part of this upgrade, qualified teachers will be permanently elevated to either Band E, Step 1, or Band F, Step 3 on the Fiji Civil Service pay scale.
