Education Minister Aseri Radrodro has announced a significant payout of $988,648.30 scheduled for the final pay of 2024, aimed at teachers who have enhanced their qualifications under the Teacher Remuneration Policy.
For the 2024-2025 financial year, the total expenditure for these increments is projected to reach $2.3 million. Teachers who meet the required qualifications will achieve a permanent upgrade to either Band E, Step 1, or Band F, Step 3 of the Fiji Civil Service pay scale.
Minister Radrodro emphasized the essential role that teachers play in the education system, stating that this initiative is a recognition of their commitment to providing quality education. He also pointed out that adequate remuneration is crucial for retaining a skilled and passionate teaching workforce, a key component necessary for the progressive development of the educational landscape.
