The Ministry of Education has disbursed $988,648.30 to teachers who have attained relevant teaching qualifications, in accordance with the Teacher Remuneration Policy, marking a significant step at the end of 2024. This financial injection is aimed at ensuring the Ministry sustains a skilled and experienced teaching workforce.
Education Minister Aseri Radrodro emphasized that this timely payment demonstrates the Coalition Government’s commitment to educational excellence and fair compensation for teachers. The expected financial impact for the 2024-2025 fiscal year stands at $2.3 million, as teachers with the appropriate qualifications will be upgraded to Band E, Step 1 or Band F, Step 3 within the Fiji Civil Service pay structure.
