Teachers who have enhanced their qualifications in line with the Teacher Remuneration Policy should check their bank accounts, as the Ministry of Education has just distributed a total of $988,648.30 to eligible educators.

Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro, highlighted this payment as evidence of the Coalition government’s dedication to educational excellence, emphasizing the importance of properly compensating teachers. He noted that in the 2024-2025 financial year, this initiative will entail a total expenditure of $2.3 million, resulting in a permanent salary upgrade for qualifying teachers to either Band E, Step 1 or Band F, Step 3 within the Fiji Civil Service pay scale.

Radrodro acknowledged the vital role that teachers play in the education system, stating that their hard work and resilience are recognized and appreciated. This payout is part of broader efforts to reward and express gratitude to teachers for their unwavering commitment to maintaining a high-quality workforce.

In summary, this recent payout reflects a positive trend in recognizing and motivating educators, ensuring they are rewarded for their continuous professional development. It serves as a hopeful indication that the government is prioritizing education quality and teacher welfare as key components of national development.
