Teachers who have recently enhanced their qualifications in line with the Teacher Remuneration Policy should check their bank accounts today. The Ministry of Education has disbursed a total of $988,648.30 to these dedicated educators.

Education Minister Aseri Radrodro highlighted this payment as a reflection of the Coalition government’s commitment to maintaining high standards in education. “This timely payout to our teachers is a testament to our dedication to excellence and ensuring that our team continues to adequately compensate our educators,” he stated.

Looking ahead, the incremental adjustments will amount to a total financial impact of $2.3 million in the 2024-2025 fiscal year. Teachers meeting the relevant qualification criteria will see their salaries elevated to either Band E, Step 1 or Band F, Step 3 within the Fiji Civil Service pay grade.

Radrodro emphasized the vital role that teachers play in the education sector, acknowledging their hard work and resilience. “Teachers are the backbone of our education system, and their efforts do not go unnoticed. This initiative represents a way to reward them and express our appreciation for their commitment to a quality workforce.”

This initiative promotes a hopeful outlook for educators, encouraging ongoing professional development while simultaneously enhancing the quality of education for students. It’s a positive step toward recognizing the value of teachers and investing in their future.
