Teachers who have recently upgraded their qualifications in line with the Teacher Remuneration Policy are encouraged to check their bank accounts, as the Ministry of Education has distributed a significant payment totaling $988,648.30 to qualifying educators.

This payment reflects the Coalition government’s dedication to educational excellence, according to Aseri Radrodro, the Minister for Education. He emphasized the importance of timely compensation, which acknowledges the professional development undertaken by teachers.

Moreover, this increment is projected to have a financial impact of $2.3 million in the 2024-2025 fiscal year. Teachers who meet the qualification criteria will be permanently promoted to either Band E, Step 1 or Band F, Step 3 within the Fiji Civil Service pay structure.

Radrodro highlighted the essential role that teachers play in the education system, stating that their hard work and resilience are acknowledged through this initiative. It serves as a vital recognition of their commitment and efforts to foster a quality workforce.

This investment in teacher remuneration not only rewards individual educators but also strengthens the overall education system, providing a positive environment for both teaching and learning. The government’s commitment to improving educational standards is a hopeful sign for the future of education in the region.
