The Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) in Hawaii has reported that Tropical Depression 03F (TD03F) has been tracking southeastward over the past day. The JTWC anticipates that this trajectory will persist for the next 12 to 18 hours, after which the system is expected to gradually shift to an eastward path.
As for the intensity of TD03F, the JTWC notes that the system is facing challenges due to its asymmetric structure. This structure is primarily influenced by moderate to high mid-level westerly wind shear, which is impacting its development.
The forecast from JTWC indicates that TD03F is expected to dissipate within 120 hours, likely weakening southwest of American Samoa. This development suggests a waning threat from the tropical depression, offering some reassurance to the regions in its potential path. Overall, while TD03F is currently a point of concern, the anticipated dissipation may lead to safer conditions in the affected areas.
