A taxi driver has been hospitalized following a road accident on Kermode Road in Lautoka yesterday afternoon. Reports indicate that the driver of a KBL school bus lost control, resulting in a collision with a taxi that sustained significant damage. The bus was carrying students from Tilak High School at the time of the accident, which occurred at approximately 3:45 PM.
Avijeet Vishal, the younger brother of the taxi driver Kamal Prakash, alleges that the bus driver was speeding. “My brother was on his way to a pick-up when the bus came from the junction,” Vishal stated. “The bus driver was over speeding and lost control when it struck the taxi.”
The taxi driver remains in the hospital, while the bus passengers were fortunate to escape serious injuries. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
