Tavua has secured promotion to the Premier Division for the 2025 domestic season following a decisive 3-0 victory over Bua in the second and final leg of the Digicel Senior League playoff at Garvey Park. The match took place this afternoon.
Vilitati Kautoga initiated the scoring in the 40th minute, taking advantage of a throw-in that found him just outside the 18-yard box. Kautoga struck the ball accurately, giving Tavua a 1-0 lead as they went into halftime.
In the early moments of the second half, Manasa Nawakula increased Tavua’s lead in the 51st minute. The former Ba and Lautoka player skillfully maneuvered past a Bua defender before delivering an accurate cross to Nawakula, who finished the play, extending the score to 2-0.
Ratu Sairusi Nalewadonu solidified the triumph with a goal during injury time. A defensive mistake by Bua left the ball loose in the box, allowing Nalewadonu to seize the opportunity and score in the 90+2 minute, clinching a comfortable 3-0 win for the Tavua team coached by Dr. Diva Singh.
