TAVUA has been invigorated economically with the recent opening of the refurbished Al-Hamd Smart Living Store, marking a significant milestone as the 10th outlet for the company in Fiji. Managing Director Ashfaaq Khan expressed pride in the expansion, noting that the store aims to provide a supply of furniture, office supplies, and smart living appliances tailored to contemporary consumer needs.

As a local business dedicated to enhancing its community, Khan emphasized the importance of employing local talent and creating a competitive environment within the industry. He also highlighted the company’s commitment to employee welfare, with 50% of the staff currently covered by insurance, and plans for further expansion of the team.

Community engagement was an essential aspect of the store’s opening, as Ratu Ovini Bokini, a spokesperson for the Tavua district, praised Khan and the Al-Hamd Smart Living team for revitalizing the town. He expressed hope for continued growth and economic activity, reflecting a broader vision of inviting more investors to the area.

Notably, Al-Hamd Smart Living has previously opened a sixth store in Tavua, which similarly emphasized a commitment to providing modern consumer choices, including prefabricated homes, office furniture, and other stylish products. This consistent focus on innovation and community service positions Al-Hamd as a key player in improving consumer options throughout Fiji.

Overall, the launch of the new outlet represents not just business growth but the potential for enhanced economic activity in Tavua, paving the way for further investments and a more vibrant local economy. The positive outlook from both the business and community leaders showcases the benefits of local entrepreneurship in driving regional development.
