Tavua has secured promotion to the Premier Division for the 2025 domestic season following a decisive 3-0 victory over Bua in the second and final leg of the Digicel Senior League playoff held at Garvey Park.
Vilitati Kautoga opened the scoring in the 40th minute with a well-timed strike from just outside the 18-yard box after a throw-in. This goal gave Tavua a 1-0 lead as they headed into halftime.
In the early moments of the second half, Manasa Nawakula doubled Tavua’s lead in the 51st minute. The former player for Ba and Lautoka skillfully evaded a Bua defender and delivered a perfect cross to Nawakula, who finished confidently to make the score 2-0.
Ratu Sairusi Nalewadonu capped off the match with a goal in injury time. An error in Bua’s defense left the ball unattended in the box, enabling Nalewadonu to capitalize and score in the 90+2 minute, culminating in a comfortable 3-0 win for Tavua, coached by Dr. Diva Singh.
