Tavua has secured a promotion to the Premier Division for the 2025 domestic season after a decisive 3-0 victory over Bua in the second and final leg of the Digicel Senior League playoff at Garvey Park this afternoon.
Vilitati Kautoga initiated the scoring in the 40th minute with a powerful shot from outside the 18-yard box, following a throw-in. His goal gave Tavua a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
In the early moments of the second half, Manasa Nawakula increased Tavua’s lead in the 51st minute. The former player from Ba and Lautoka successfully maneuvered past a Bua defender to provide an excellent cross, which Nawakula converted, bringing the score to 2-0.
Ratu Sairusi Nalewadonu capped off the match with a late goal during injury time. A defensive blunder from Bua left the ball unclaimed in the penalty area, allowing Nalewadonu to score in the 90+2 minute and secure a comfortable 3-0 win for the Tavua team, coached by Dr. Diva Singh.
