Tavua has secured promotion to the Premier Division for the 2025 domestic season following a strong 3-0 victory over Bua in the second and final leg of the Digicel Senior League playoff at Garvey Park this afternoon.
The scoring was opened by Vilitati Kautoga in the 40th minute, who took advantage of a throw-in that found him just outside the 18-yard box. Kautoga struck the ball cleanly, giving Tavua a 1-0 lead as they headed into halftime.
In the early stages of the second half, Manasa Nawakula increased Tavua’s lead to 2-0 in the 51st minute. The former player for Ba and Lautoka skillfully maneuvered past a Bua defender before delivering an excellent cross to Nawakula, who then finished the play effectively.
Ratu Sairusi Nalewadonu put the game beyond doubt with a late goal in injury time. A defensive mistake from Bua left the ball unattended in the box, allowing Nalewadonu to capitalize and score in the 90+2 minute, confirming a decisive 3-0 victory for the Dr. Diva Singh-coached Tavua side.
