Tavua has secured its place in the Premier Division for the 2025 domestic season after a decisive 3-0 victory over Bua in the second and final leg of the Digicel Senior League playoff at Garvey Park this afternoon.
The scoring opened in the 40th minute when Vilitati Kautoga seized on a throw-in just outside the 18-yard box, striking the ball cleanly to put Tavua ahead 1-0 at halftime.
In the early moments of the second half, Tavua increased their lead with a goal from Manasa Nawakula in the 51st minute. The former Ba and Lautoka player skillfully maneuvered past a Bua defender before delivering a precise cross to Nawakula, who finished the play, making the score 2-0.
Ratu Sairusi Nalewadonu rounded out the scoring with a goal during injury time, capitalizing on a defensive mistake by Bua that left the ball loose in the box. Nalewadonu scored in the 90+2 minute, securing a comfortable 3-0 win for the Dr. Diva Singh-coached Tavua side.
