Tavua has secured promotion to the Premier Division for the 2025 domestic season following a decisive 3-0 victory over Bua in the second and final leg of the Digicel Senior League playoff held at Garvey Park this afternoon.
Vilitati Kautoga initiated the scoring in the 40th minute, taking advantage of a throw-in that found him just outside the penalty area. He struck the ball cleanly, giving Tavua a 1-0 lead as they headed into halftime.
In the early stages of the second half, Manasa Nawakula increased Tavua’s lead in the 51st minute. The former Ba and Lautoka player skillfully maneuvered past a Bua defender before delivering a precise cross to Nawakula, who finished expertly to make it 2-0.
Ratu Sairusi Nalewadonu capped off the victory with a late goal during injury time. A defensive lapse by Bua allowed the ball to become loose in the box, enabling Nalewadonu to capitalize and score in the 90+2 minute, culminating in a comfortable 3-0 triumph for Tavua, coached by Dr. Diva Singh.
