Tavua football club is actively preparing for the 2025 Premier League and is calling on supporters and the local community to unite in their efforts as they face upcoming challenges. Club secretary Vicky Kumar indicated that following the resignation of their president last season, the club has encountered financial difficulties. Despite these challenges, a dedicated small team, including Kumar, vice president Hirdendra Kumar, and coach Diva Singh, has been working hard to keep the club operational.

“Our primary focus right now is on recruiting new players, securing a training ground in Tavua, and finding sponsors for the next season,” stated Vicky. Currently, the team trains in Ba, but they have submitted a request to Tavua Town Council for a training ground closer to home.

Kumar remains optimistic about the team’s future, stating, “The coach is here with us, which is great; our main goal is to recruit players who will represent Tavua next season.” Vice president Hirdendra Kumar echoed this sentiment, highlighting the importance of strengthening the club’s management structure. He mentioned, “We are looking to fill the vacant roles and then we can start working on securing funding.”

In a heartfelt message to fans, Hirdendra urged the community to support the team, especially as they have been promoted to the Super Premier Division and aim to maintain their position. The club is committed to reconnecting with the community once they have established a full management team.

This proactive approach reflects the club’s resilience and determination to overcome obstacles, signaling a hopeful future for Tavua football and its supporters. The call for community support serves as a reminder of the crucial role that local backing plays in the success of sports teams.
