The Fiji Roads Authority has successfully completed coastal protection initiatives in Taveuni, aimed at safeguarding vulnerable road networks from the threats of flooding and erosion. This significant project, which spans 129 meters along the Holy Cross College frontage in Wairiki, is focused on preserving critical road infrastructure and ensuring safer access for local communities.

According to the FRA, the improvements work to mitigate the effects of erosion and the powerful forces of wave action, providing enhanced protection to the roadside and combating further land erosion along this coastal region. By stabilizing the shoreline, the project is expected to foster safer and more reliable road access for residents, enhancing their connectivity and overall well-being.

These efforts reflect ongoing commitments to infrastructure resilience in the face of environmental challenges, contributing positively to community safety and stability in Taveuni.
