Two men in their late twenties have been charged with aggravated robbery in connection with a break-in that occurred at a residence in Tamavua last month. The individuals, aged 29 and 27, allegedly forced their way into the home of a 46-year-old man on October 30, where they stole cash, a mobile phone, and various personal belongings before fleeing the scene.
Last week, law enforcement apprehended the suspects, leading to their appearance in the Suva Magistrates Court on November 4. The court has mandated that both men remain in custody until their next court hearing, scheduled for November 18.
This incident underscores the ongoing efforts by local authorities to combat the rising incidents of home invasions in the Tamavua area, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining community safety.
In light of recent trends, it is hopeful that increased vigilance and law enforcement presence will help deter such criminal activities in the future, fostering a greater sense of security within the community.
