Tamanisau’s Triumph: A Goalkeeping Legend Returns to the Bula Boys Squad!

Evergreen Labasa goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau has secured a spot in the 29-member extended squad of the Bula Boys for the upcoming matches in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Oceania Qualifiers.

At 42 years old, Tamanisau recently earned the Golden Glove award during the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC), where he played a crucial role in leading the Babasiga Lions to victory in Lautoka.

In addition to Tamanisau, in-form striker Christopher Wasasala and reliable defender Sekove Naivakananumi have also earned their places in the squad.

Furthermore, Nadi goalkeeper Joela Biuvanua has been included in the team, taking the place of Rewa’s Isikeli Sevanaia, who was dropped due to disciplinary reasons.

The squad is scheduled to start their training camp on Sunday, October 29, at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba.

The Fiji squad comprises: Joela Biuvanua, Simione Tamanisau, Jerome Narayan, Akuila Mateisuva, Filipe Baravilala, Sekove Naivakananumi, Samuela Kautoga, Scott Wara, Sterling Vasconcellos, Antonio Tuivuna, Gabriele Matanisiga, Josh Laqeretabua, Ivan Kumar, Kavaia Rawaqa, Setareki Hughes, Merrill Nand, Rahul Krishna, Sitiveni Cavuilagi, Mohammed Raheem, Tevita Waranaivalu, Dave Radrigai, Leroy Jennings, Aporosa Yada, Nabil Begg, Thomas Dunn, Roy Krishna, Sairusi Nalaubu, Etonia Dogalau, and Christopher Wasasala.
