The Fiji Bureau of Statistics (FBoS) has officially announced the appointment of Apisalome Tamani as the Acting Chief Executive, starting February 4, 2026. Tamani, who is currently the Deputy Government Statistician (Technical), will oversee the bureau’s functions in an acting capacity until a permanent appointment is finalized.

This transition follows the previous tenure of Kemueli Naiqama, who has been appointed as Fiji’s Ambassador to Japan. The leadership change at FBoS marks a significant step in ensuring continuity in the management of statistical data vital for the nation’s development.

The appointment of a capable leader like Tamani is expected to bring a wealth of experience to the role, as he has worked closely within the statistical community, contributing to various initiatives and projects that promote informed decision-making within the government and beyond. This leadership change could herald new opportunities for the bureau to enhance its services and offerings to the people of Fiji.
