Talei Holmes Shakes Off Injury: Ready to Lead Fiji Bulikula!

Talei Holmes, captain of the Fiji Bulikula team, is set to return to the field this weekend after being cleared by medical professionals following a neck injury she suffered in August. Holmes sustained the injury during the grand final against the Newcastle Knights while playing for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in the NRLW. She needed to be stretchered off for immediate medical attention.

Now, two months post-injury, Holmes is ready to lead her team in the Pacific Championship and shared that she has received medical clearance for her participation.

“My body’s just recovered and I’m feeling fresh and ready to go. It was good to get a few weeks off, but I’m ready now,” Holmes stated. She also mentioned that while she dealt with neck and shoulder issues, her injuries are not severe, and she has been cleared by doctors.

Excited about playing in Fiji for the first time, Holmes described this experience as special, especially after witnessing the enthusiasm of the local children who cheer for them while they are on buses.

Holmes has previously represented Fiji in other matches. The Fiji Bulikula will face the Cook Islands at the HFC Bank Stadium at 6 pm on Saturday, followed by the Vodafone Fiji Bati competing against the Cook Islands at 8:10 pm.
