A serious collision between a container truck and a mini-bus resulted in eight individuals being hospitalized this afternoon. The incident occurred around noon at Lokuya Hill in Tailevu. Both drivers, along with six passengers from the mini-bus, were transported to Korovou Hospital for medical attention.

In response to the crash, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mitieli Divuana, the Director of Traffic for the Fiji Police Force, emphasized the importance of vigilance among all Public Service Vehicle (PSV) drivers. “This is the second incident this week involving PSVs, and innocent passengers are becoming victims on our roads,” SSP Divuana stated.

This unfortunate event highlights the critical need for heightened awareness and safety measures for drivers, particularly those operating passenger vehicles. It serves as a reminder to prioritize road safety for the well-being of everyone on our roads.

As the community reflects on this incident, it is hoped that improved safety measures and increased driver awareness can lead to a reduction in such unfortunate occurrences in the future.
