The Taras Supermarket Tailevu Rugby 10s Tournament finals are happening today at Ratu Ravuama School grounds in Mokani, featuring fierce competition from 32 male teams and four women’s teams vying for top honors. The winners of the main cup will be awarded $1,000, with the runners-up receiving $500 and semi-finalists taking home $200 each. For the women’s teams, the champions will be rewarded with $300, while the runners-up will get $200 and the best player will earn $50.

Malakai Yamaivava, the chairman of the Tailevu Rugby Union club games, expressed that this tournament is not only a thrilling competition but also serves as a pre-season event, designed to prepare clubs for the upcoming 2025 Clubs Games Competition commencing on June 28. He praised the abundance of local talent showcased in the tournament, highlighting its importance as a grassroots rugby event supported by passionate players and fans.

Yamaivava noted that teams like FA & CO Mokani, Nakelo, Kasavu, and Korowaciri are among the strong contenders to watch. The tournament’s structure encourages community involvement, inviting all supporters, families, and friends to witness the exhilarating finals.
