The Tailevu/Naitasiri football team is set to rely on its Under-19 players during the upcoming FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC) starting October 15. Head coach Priyant Manu mentioned that the team is preparing thoroughly before traveling to Churchill Park in Lautoka. They are placed in Group B of the Premier division alongside Tavua and Savusavu.
Manu noted that Tailevu/Naitasiri has previously only won in the Senior division at the IDC, and they are eager to claim the Premier division title this time around. He acknowledged that the teams aim to finish strongly since this is the final tournament of the year.
“Definitely in a tough pool with Tavua, they have just been promoted,” he remarked. “We will give our best shot. Most of our under-19 and youth players will be given a chance at the IDC to give them exposure. We will definitely do something come game day.”
The IDC will take place from October 15 to 20.
