The Tailevu/Naitasiri football team is set to rely on their Under-19 players at the FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC) starting October 15. Head coach Priyant Manu stated that the team is preparing diligently as they get ready for the tournament at Churchill Park in Lautoka. They will compete in Group B of the Premier division, alongside Tavua and Savusavu.
Manu noted that Tailevu/Naitasiri has previously won the Senior division title at the IDC and is now aiming for success in the Premier division. He acknowledged that both Tavua and Savusavu will be eager to perform well, as this is the final tournament of the year.
“It’s definitely a tough group with Tavua, who have just been promoted,” he remarked. “We will give it our best effort. Most of our Under-19 and youth players will have the opportunity at the IDC to gain valuable experience. We plan to make a strong showing on game day.”
The IDC competition will take place from October 15 to October 20.
