Tailevu Naitasiri became the first team to secure a place in the semi-finals of the 2024 FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC) Premier Division with a 4-1 victory over Savusavu FC at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
Earlier this week, in their opening match, Tailevu Naitasiri defeated Tavua 2-0, while Nasinu and Bua ended their encounter in a 2-2 draw in the Premier competition.
In another match yesterday, Bua FC fought back to draw 2-2 with Virtual Flex Lami FC, with Semi Volitivuravura of Lami earning the Match of the Match accolade.
In the Senior Category, Dreketi, Nadogo, and Northland Tailevu FC each collected three points. Nadogo triumphed over Taveuni with a score of 3-2, while Dreketi outclassed Seaqaqa with a 4-0 win. Seaqaqa and Rakiraki FC both earned a point from their goalless draw on the first day.
The teams that will advance to the semi-finals will be determined after tomorrow’s matches featuring Northland Tailevu against Taveuni and Dreketi facing Rakiraki FC.
