The Tailevu/Naitasiri football team is set to rely on their Under-19 players for the upcoming FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC), which begins on October 15. Head coach Priyant Manu stated that the squad will prepare thoroughly before heading to Churchill Park in Lautoka.
Tailevu/Naitasiri is placed in Group B of the Premier division alongside Tavua and Savusavu. Despite having previously secured the Senior division title at the IDC, Manu expressed a desire to capture the Premier division title this year.
He acknowledged that both opposing teams aim to make a strong finish since the IDC represents the final tournament of the season. “It is definitely a tough pool, especially with Tavua being newly promoted,” Manu noted. “We will put forth our best effort.”
The coach plans to give most of their Under-19 and youth players a chance to gain valuable experience at the IDC. “We are hoping to achieve something significant on game day,” he added. The IDC will take place from October 15 to October 20.
