Kavaia Tagivetaua is set to make his Super Rugby Pacific debut as he is named on the bench for the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua by head coach Glen Jackson ahead of round two of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific. Tagivetaua, a young hooker, headlines a match day 23 that sees seven changes to the starting lineup as the Drua aim to recover after their first outing of the season.

Despite the alterations, Jackson has decided to retain the same front row from the previous match to ensure stability in the scrums and set pieces. The loose forwards have also been revamped, with flankers Joseva Tamani and Motikiai Murray stepping into the starting side, while Elia Canakaivata remains in his number eight position.

In the halves, Frank Lomani will make his first start of the season at scrum half, partnering with Isaiah Armstrong Ravula. On the wings, Taniela Rakuro takes a starting spot, while Isikeli Rabitu and Tuidraki Samusamuvodre will form the midfield combination. Ponipate Loganimasi will occupy the other wing, supported by Ilaisa Droasese at fullback.

Coach Jackson expressed his excitement about the upcoming match, emphasizing the team’s eagerness to channel their frustrations against a familiar rival. “So we’ve gone for guys that are ready to play a team that had a good win. There’s certainly history between the Drua and the Waratahs. They’re going to come out fighting, so we’re looking forward to fronting up to them,” he stated.

The Drua will also have several players on the bench, including Peni Ravai, Samuela Tawake, Mesake Vocevoce, Kitione Salawa, Issak Fines-Leleiwasa, Inia Tabuavou, and Manasa Mataele.

The highly anticipated match between the Drua and the Waratahs is scheduled for this Friday at 8:35 PM, and fans can catch the live action on FBC Sports. This clash promises intriguing rivalries and thrilling moments as both teams look to make their mark this season.
