The recent round of the 2024/2025 Suva Women’s T20 League tournament showcased a vibrant display of cricket at Albert Park in Suva, where eight teams competed fiercely last Saturday. In another impressive match, the Veiyasana Stars dominated the Lami Lights, winning by 10 wickets after effortlessly chasing down a modest target of 54 runs, achieving this in just 6.5 overs and surpassing Lami Lights’ total of 53 runs. The final match witnessed the Black Ducks overcoming Sarafui Sinas by six wickets, accumulating 116 runs against the Sinas’ 113.

With two more rounds left before the teams from Suva face their Western rivals from Nadi, the urgency and intensity in the league are palpable. Cricket Fiji president Sitiveni Rokoro emphasized the tournament’s critical role in identifying players for the inaugural Four Nations tournament, scheduled to take place in New Caledonia in March.
