Sydney Suva claimed victory over Labasa with a score of 2-0 in an exciting final of the Rams Group of Companies 10th Sanatan World Cup. Young talent Marcus Lal started the scoring for Suva early in the game but later missed a penalty opportunity.
Labasa’s brothers Anish Khem and Ashnil Raju worked hard to bring their team back into contention, but Suva’s defense, led by goalkeeper Jerome Narayan, along with Krishneel Dutt and Kishan Sami, held strong. The match was secured for Suva when former Nadi striker Shivneel Pillay scored an excellent goal midway through the second half. Labasa faced a setback when Melvin Mani was sent off, leaving them with only ten players.
In individual accolades, Narayan received the Golden Glove award, Lal took home the Golden Boot for his seven tournament goals, and Pranit Singh was named the Most Valuable Player. Additionally, Sydney Suva earned recognition as the Best Disciplined Team.
